Who doesn’t enjoy looking at adorable, furry little critters that melt your heart, especially when they wear clothes, talk funny, and get into all sorts of mischievous deeds? If you agree, then Alvin and the Chipmunks , the 2007 American comedy film, featuring those three adorable Chipmunks, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, might be just the movie for you. It begins with the critters’ tree home being cut down and taken to Los Angeles. When the Chipmunks arrive in L.A., they meet a struggling songwriter named David Seville. Dave’s latest song was rejected by JETT Records’ executive, Ian Hawke, who was akso David’s old college roommate. After the interview, the Chipmunks follow Dave home, where they’re eventually found. But as the three are doing what they do best, horse playing around, they accidently knock Dave unconscious. After waking, Dave throws the three naughty Chipmunks out, only to offer them a deal once he hears them sing. Thereafter, the David and his three singing chipmunks spend the rest of the film pursuing a record deal, causing all kinds of mayhem wherever they happen to go, and getting David in trouble with everybody he meets, especially women and record company executives. In the end, when Dave cannot hold it in any longer, he screams his trademark yell ALLLLVINNN!!! The film was a financial success. It raked in $217 million (USD) in North America $361 million (USD) at box offices worldwide, yet the films budget was only $60 million (USD). If you and your family are looking for an old fashioned, fun-filled movie that features lots of songs and laughter, Alvin and the Chipmunks might be just the movie for you.
