There are many things that come to mind when you think of boots. Knee high, trendy boots made of leather, cowboy boots, riding boots, and wellies are just a few common types of boots. Boots protect your feet, ankles, and calves, as well as look quite stylish. Boots are a popular item to wear when it’s cold outside, and they go with skirts, dresses, and pants, too. Boots make a fashion statement, such as trendy Dr. Martens boots, or they are merely functional, such as rubber wellies on a rainy day. Boots don’t just come in one style. There are ankle boots, also called booties, snow boots, which offer a layer of warmth and protection from the elements, zip up boots, over-the-knee boots, flat boots, and of course, heeled boots for those dressy occasions. You could literally wear a different type of boot every day, and probably not run out of styles for several weeks. Nancy Sinatra made boots sassy with her hit song "These Boots Were Made For Walking" and women have been walking off in their boots for years. Men’s boots are more functional than fashionable, but for women, the sky is the limit. Boots come bedazzled, studded, with chains, straps, and buckles, or made especially for horse riding. Some boots, such as UGG boots, are simply made to be comfortable and keep feet warm during the winter. The biggest problem most women have with boots is which ones to pick. Since boots are so versatile, they never go out of style, and though the designs and styles may vary year to year, boots are in every fashion magazine every fall in preparation for cool weather, also called boot weather.
