About Dresses

Believe it or not, there was a time when it was frowned upon for women to wear pants. Though times have changed greatly, it’s still nice to feel feminine when putting on a dress. When it comes to dresses, there are a few that are the most important ones you’ll ever wear; your prom dress, wedding dress, and special dresses you wear to events or occasions. Though you may only wear some dresses once, there are many types of dresses that can be worn on an everyday basis. Sometimes slipping on cotton dresses and heels or sandals just puts an extra bounce in your step. Some dresses make a name for themselves, and become famous in their own rights, such as Princess Diana’s wedding dress or Marilyn Monroe’s iconic white halter dress. Flappers in the 1920s era made mini dresses popular, but by the time the 1950s rolled around, hemlines were back down and the conservative look of dresses was back in. The length of dresses has varied since them, depending on popular fashion trends. Though women have the option to wear pants, shorts, or skirts nowadays, there are simply occasions that call for the glamour of a dress, whether it’s a cocktail party, awards ceremony, or a wedding. The most sought after dress for most women is the perfect little black dress, or LBD. An LBD can be dressed up or dressed down, and worn to many types of places or events. Though women can wear pants, they still choose to wear pretty dresses when the weather is warmer, when the occasion is special, or just to feel a little bit prettier than normal.
