How do You Know

If you’re looking for a movie to pass the evening hours, watch How Do You Know. Although it was not a hit in the box office, it is still a good at-home film. Actors in the movie are well-known and include Reese Witherspoon, Jack Nicholson, Paul Rudd, and Owen Wilson, among others. The tale is told about a professional athlete who is hopelessly confused about which lover she really prefers. On the one hand, she has the self-centred baseball player and star, and then she has the straight-and-narrow man in a suit. Sure enough, Lisa, played by Reece Witherspoon, has always primarily been involved in sports, and she can’t remember a time when this wasn’t so. But suddenly, she’s been removed from the team. An identity crises ensues while she tries to work out what has happened and what she is going to do now with her life. It’s at this point that Lisa begins to date Matty, played by Owen Wilson, who plays Major League Baseball and, unfortunately, is a bit of a womanizer. While this goes on, the honest and awkward businessman George, played by Paul Rudd, has been wrongly accused in a financial crime, and is finding his career and his finances rapidly falling down around his ears. He does his best to clear his name while trying to fix the problems in the difficult relationship he has with his dad, played by Jack Nicholson, when he meet Lisa in a chance meeting. At this low point in their lives, both of them are looking for something new and a new way to live. George becomes hopeful that maybe his life isn’t going to go completely to waste after all. Of course, you’ll have to watch the movie to know the ending. But as you can see, it’s not a bad story of love lost, and love found. And it must be said, the ending is unusually satisfying and effective, and all the big-name actors do really well in their roles, making it worth a popcorn night for sure.
