This show has had audiences laughing out loud since 2003. Two and a Half Men is a US sitcom that originally starred Charlie Sheen as a chauvinistic sex-crazed jingle writer named Charlie Harper. After his brother Alan, who is played by Jon Cryer, gets divorced, he moves in to Charlie’s Malibu beach house along with his son Jake. During the first five seasons, Charlie has casual sexual encounters with several different women. Subsequently he popped the question to Chelsea, who later cancels the engagement and goes to Paris. The cast of the show changed after Sheen went through some personal issues and the actor Ashton Kutcher was introduced to the show to play the character Walden Schmidt. Ten seasons of the show and a total of 220 episodes have been broadcast. The show is broadcast in Australia on Nine Network, GO! and Fox 8. The show has received a significant amount of critical acclaim including two Primetime Emmy Award wins for Jon Cryer’s acting. Several famous guests have played starring roles on the show including actors such as Jason Alexander, John Amos, Michael Bolton, Gary Busey and Jenna Elfman among others. The show has received strong ratings in the US and has averaged over 14 million viewers. A DVD box set is available that offers several bonus features such as backstage interviews, outtakes and a gag reel. The show is produced by Chuck Lorre, Lee Aronson, and Eric Tannenbaum among others. The theme music for the show was composed by Lorree, Aronsohn and Grant Geissman.
