Amazon Kindle Touch 4GB, Wi-Fi, 6in - Silver eBook Reader

After buying the kindle i don't think i will need to read from a book ever again!
Very easy to use and very convenient and very happy with this product!
The matt screen makes for easy reading with no annoying reflection.
To those who think its only for buying books from amazon think again...books can easily be added to the documents folder from any pc as long as its in MOBI format, plenty of free books available!
Music and audio books also no problem so i added my favourite music to take when i travel...

It's nice and light - not like holding a thick novel. When I go to sleep it slides nicely out of my grasp and puts itself to sleep. It's great to just look up for more books no matter where I am. I don't get as tired when reading so I read longer and more often. The % of book read is interesting feedback. I haven't used other ebook readers so can't really compare. I just know that I chose this make and model after doing a fair bit of on-line research and it seemed the best value for money to suit my needs, and it has lived up to my expectations.

Overall the product presents well, e ink functionality is a little slow to react sometimes, and has a ugly changeover between pages. Abit disapointed by the lack of standalone JPEG support, although it does support JPEGS within PDF documents. This has its downfalls however as when images are too large the reader crashes and returns you to home as it is unable to read them due to it's limited RAM. This can be very annoying if you need to review diagrams, in my case i still cannot view some of the diagrams in my medical textbooks.

Sadly no color,but this was expected, although a little disapointing given what we have come to expect in 2012. the zoom functiionality is also less than satisfactory, allowing you to pinch and zoom but only at 3 different levels. text to speech still needs alot of development. the reader tends to not be able to pronounce F's and other letters and tends to read titles and page numbers during pages swaps, something that can be very annoying and distract from the flow of reading.

Overall it's still a okay reader, but the lack of ease of use and glitchy functionality throw me off.Don't expect the same ease of use you'd find from an ipad or tablet computer. this is a very basic e reader. It's main selling point is the E ink is easier on the eyes than that of one of it's backlit competitors.

i purchased this kindle for a birthday present for my partner. overall it has been excellent, a few problems with setting it up etc but online help sorted out any problems. an ac adapter really should be sold with the unit for charging as charging with a usb with a computer can be problematic at times. it seems to need re setting quite often also. if i were to buy another ereader i would probably choose another brand.

I bought the Kindle touch for my wife who is totally computer illiterate and afraid of pushing buttons. However the operation of the Kindle gave her no problems at all after a short get to know session.
The screen is fabulous. Only gripe is the battery. It has to be on the charger within the week. 2 to 3 hours a day use wi fi off.
