If you want the best in mobile phones, this is your best choice. Trust me I've looked around read the reviews on latest phones out now, & the iPhone 4 is at the very top!
BTW I have the WHITE iPhone 4 not the black one. It looks stunning! This is my first iphone, as I vowed before I would never splash out that much money on a phone, but you pay for quality I guess. Holding it, it feels strong...it has a good weight on it that reflects the sturdy casing of 'Engineered Glass' (Apple says the same glass used on helicopters & high speed trains & 30 times stronger than plastic!) & Stainless Steel. Looks wise, its one sexy but classy phone!
Yes the iPhone 5 is coming out later this year, but this design is brilliant, how much better can it be other than a few tweeks to the internal specs?
Easy to setup via itunes, download all the apps you want, sync your music, sim contacts, email etc. 5 megapixel cam is fine but not exactly the best around. Retina display...wow (yes I was also trying to look for this pixels).
I love the new earphones with the volume control & mic.
I'm quite the picky consumer & like to do my homework on what is out there in the market, & after a month of searching I stubbornly gave in and bought the iPhone 4, it is the best you will find right now! (22/9/11) :D
I recommend you get the WHITE one as more than 50% of iphone owners have the black one, white stands out more.
Also to protect your precious spend, get a case & screen protector.

A great phone in the usual form factor of most smart phones available, though a susperceeded phone it offers everything of the new phones on the market bar the large screen without paying a kings ransom for the privelege, as used 32Gb unlocked examples in great condition go around the $330 to $400 mark.
The one aspect which Im used to now, but some may find annoying is the proprietry software of the Apple unit, meaning everything has to be done via itunes and converted into "APPLE SPEAk" which unless you buy everyting from the Itunes store will require lots of converting and importing files you have on your system if you want to use it on your iphone, music and movies etc.
Pros:Great Display, sharp and clear, quality of build, feel, processor
Cons : small screen compared to other new smartphones
everthing has to be done through itunes

Review For: Apple iPhone 4 - 16GB - Black Smartphone
The Apple iPhone 4 was my first and so far only iPhone I have used (I have since moved onto Android). Before my acquisition of this device I was an iPod Touch user. Having much experience with the iPod Touch, the transition from that to this iPhone was easy.
There are plenty of features on this device that you would come to expect on a 'smart' phone. Camera, touch screen, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, everything is in this phone. Runs on Apple's iOS which for the most part works, it is highly stable and there are very few glitches. Icons are big and easy to press, very sensitive but controllable touch screen.
The phone itself isn't too big to hold, although the screen I feel is a bit too small for my liking. Glass front and rear is a definite risk of breaking, a case is highly recommended. The iOS is quite restricting, there are some programs/software, such as Flash, are not supported and the phone would probably require a jailbreak of some sort for those who like to run those programs.
For those who do not have much experience in tinkering with the software internals of an OS should probably buy an iOS device as Apple pretty much sets up everything for you.
For those who like to change to movable backgrounds, true multitasking, run their own programs or would like to play flash games on their phone then an Android phone would be better for you.
Battery life is very good for a phone of this type but again that may be due to the small screen (in comparison to a galaxy s2 or htc hd7) and its single core processor.
Buying this device as is is quite expensive, especially when there are plenty of other choices on the market that are significantly cheaper and hardware wise more powerful. Get this on a plan from the network provider is the cheapest way.

Review For: Apple iPhone 4 - 16GB - Black Smartphone
Buying this product was an impulse buy. I did not need or want a new phone but when I decided to search for mobile phones and the most popular search was for an iPhone I thought I would have a look and see what second hand iPhones were selling for.
I began bidding on my item when there was only a few minutes left which looking back was both an advantage and a disadvantage. The advantage was that I won the item, the disadvantage was that I didn't get an opportunity to ask questions as there was not enough time.
The phone works pretty well but I have discovered that the inverted camera doesn't work but I do know that it is common for these types of phones to freeze. This minor imperfection hasn't made me regret the decision to buy the phone. I am very happy with the product especially for the price I paid.
It's only downfall is the battery life is not the best and needs to be charged every night depending on the usage during the day i.e. Social networking, Internet, music etc.

Review For: Apple iPhone 4 - 16GB - Black Smartphone
The iPhone 4 is one of the best smartphone's on the market right now. The combination of gorgeous new hardware, that amazing display, upgraded cameras, and major improvements to the operating system make this an extremely formidable package. Yes, there are still pain points that we want to see Apple fix, and yes, there are some amazing alternatives to the iPhone 4 out there. But when it comes to the total package -- fit and finish in both software and hardware, performance, app selection, and all of the little details that make a device like this what it is -- we think it's the cream of the current crop. We won't argue that a lot of this is a matter of taste -- some people will just prefer the way Android or Symbian works to the iPhone, and others will be on the lookout for a hardware keyboard or a particular asset that the iPhone 4 lacks -- but in terms of the total picture, it's tough to deny that Apple has moved one step past the competition with this phone. Of course, in the hyper-accelerated smartphone market where the Next Big Thing seems to always be just around the corner, it's anyone's guess how long they keep that edge.
