Battlefield 3 (Microsoft Xbox 360, 2011)

Battlefield 3, sequel to Battlefield 2 numerically ONLY, is a great First Person Shooter, backed by great graphics (PC shows this best), superb 'battlefield' sounds, and enticing Multiplayer gameplay. BF3 is nearly the best FPS I have ever played (COD BO2 beats it overall).

Whats great about this game? Its engine. No that isn't the internal combustion engine of your Camry, its Frostbite 2. This engine, making its debut in Battlefield: Bad Company 1, has been steadily updated through these years. The feel of weapons, vehicles and the movement of the character are fantastic. This carries on into the multiplayer.

Multiplayer has many modes, ranging from TDM, Dom, Conquest, Rush and many more. 64 player (32 on consoles) are amazing, the maps are immense and breathtaking. There is one disappointment of the MP... that is the destruction. It has been toned down from Bad Company 2, leaving only small holes in buildings rather than collapsing a 3 story house on top of the enemy team.

Co-op was a nice addition to the game, if you have a friend then this mode is easy, if you're playing online with random users, use a mic and make sure the other player has one as well. Another disappointment is that Co-op has no splitscreen.

Single player/campaign was to say the least uninteresting. Not sure who wrote the campaign script, they obviously didn't spend too much time on it (more focus on MP I guess). Quicktime events are annoying and stupid, I wouldn't bother going hand to hand with the enemy, would it not be easier to shoot them from afar?

No, there are glitches in the game, even after numerous updates, where enemies will either spawn behind you, appear from ridiculous places, their lifeless bodies fly into the air or into walls, or their inability to die from multiple shots and able to run up to you and stab you even while you're still shooting....

If you're going to play BF3, don't even bother with the campaign, just play MP.

The game itself is awesome. Single player and Multi player are both fun. Graphics look good and will give your graphics card a run for it's money. Just unfortunate that you have to install Origin and play the game via Battlelog. Origin sucks and Battlelog is annoying. However you forget about that as soon as you start playing the game.

i have played a number of multiplayer games including all previous versions of battlefield.
the others are great but this is superb.
i see some reviewers moaning about gigabyte downloads before you can get the game going or complaining about the frame rate.
this game has minimum hardware requirements so i would make sure your pc, graphics card, internet connection and download limits are all up to it.
for multiplayer play this game is THE ONE ... and it is well worth the effort to overcome any issues you might have getting it going.

this game is really awesome,the campaign is a bit of a letdown because it is very short and no proper story line but the multiplayer is THE best,so far definitely recommend this product

a great game that take you to the front line and realism is impressive. the designers have done a great job.
