Wide focal range - equivalent to 38 - 170mm on my EOS 60D - makes this a great general purpose lens.

) Perfect Match to my Canon EOS-5D Mark III. With IS and a reasonable price (For an L lens...) it is difficult to beat and harder to justify buying the new 24-70mm F2.8L Mark II at more than twice the price.
The high ISO of the 5D Mark3 makes this lens very valuable in low light as well. Distortion at 24mm is easily corrected with DXO. Weight of the lens is good, well balanced on the 5D Mk3.
This is the second time I purchased that lens and I think I will stick to it as it is the most versatile L lens on the Canon System until they release a new version of the same lens.
You can spend more and get the new 2.8 but you will carry more weight and the focal range will be limited. Unless you take pictures in low light all day, the 24-105mm lens is the best bet. Which explains why Canon often pair that lens with a 5D Mark3 as a kit.
I own 5 other L lenses and the 24-105 is the one I will be using most of the time.
Highly recommended overall.

) Very satisfied with the image quality. I use this on a 60D which is great. 24mm end is not a problem for me because all I do is step back a bit. Recommended if you wanna upgrade lens from a standard zoom consumer lens.

I would recommend this lens as a walkabout lens for any Canon DSLR user.

This is a great lens. Even though it is designed for full frame Canon DSLR it is perfectly suited to my cropped frame Canon 550D DSLR. Perfect weight and size for the body.

) After buying a 70-200 F4, I needed a wide angle lens. I hesitated between the 24-70 and 24-105, but I finally chose the Canon 24-105 L for its price and performance. Today I don't regret my choice, it never leaves my camera. The shortcomings of this lens? just vignetting that can be corrected by soft very easily. I am completely satisfied, thank you Canon.
