The best canon lens for your dollar!

 | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This canon lens is the lens to get other than the kit lenses. For the money (and it isn't much) you get excellent image quality, and with a aperture as low as f/1.8, it is great for both bokeh (blurred backgrounds) and low light photography. I highly recommend this lens for anyone who wants an excellent additional lens to the basic kit lenses.

It's not called the 'Nifty Fifty' for no reason - brilliant!

After hearing about the 'nifty fifty' lens that is a must have in any photographers lens arsenal, I decided to buy this lens and see what the hype was all about - and I wasn't disappointed.

This prime lens makes for some fantastic shots. I have a Canon 600D and even on the crop sensor (at an effective focal length of 80mm) it has been great for street photography and excellent for portraiture. At f/1.8 you can really get that beautiful depth of field most DSLR users crave. Whilst the lens feels very light, its weight suits the lighter body of my crop sensor camera. Just avoid dropping it too many times - easy!

I highly recommend this lens to any amateur enthusiast who wants a cheap addition to their kit that provides plenty of value.

this lens is so wonderful for the portrait picture! it could fit with a wide range of canon! i'm use it with my 60d. although the auto focus sometime functions not good, i think it still a wonderful lens for my canon60d

Quite an amazing lens for the price. I have taken some razor sharp photos with this lens over the short period of time I have owned it. Portraits and close head/shoulders shots, in good outdoors light and low indoors light (live band photography in particular) have been out of this world.

Focusing in low light can be an issue, it tends to hunt a little and occassionally will pick out a spot you don't want to be in focus. Though this can be said of any lens in low light situations.

For roughly $100 the photos this lens has taken are breathtaking. I would not sell it. It really is the 'nifty fifty'. I have evry confidence that as I continue to learn how to use this lens in various light situations and scenarios, more and more of my photos will be of top quality.

This lens is taking time for me to get used to. Takes fantastic portrait shots in daylight, extremely sharp. I'm still experimenting with it to find the sweet spot. The 1.8F is great at night too. I can see why it's a must-have lens and one of the top 10 lenses sold. Hopefully I can put it to more use when I learn how to utilize it better. It's already taken some brilliant shots though, and easily paid for itself.
