Canon EOS 40D 10.1 MP Digital SLR Camera - Black (Body Only)

I am an avid photographer,having owned excellent analogue cameras in the past.Recently have been borrowing my partners camera ,a quite nice point and shoot digital camera.But it was limited in what it could do. So I have now bought the canon 40D . It has a ef 50mm 1:1.8 close up .45mm>1.5ft lens .Have yet to purchase some more lenses for it, such as wide angle zoom etc. Still learning to use this camera,it has a vast amount of features and settings,so at this stage I am having great fun playing and experimenting with it. Looking forward to taking some great photos with it.What I have taken so far have been good, but the camera operator has some improving to do yet, over all this is a great camera for both amateur and professional photography.

I'm a frustrated photographer and have been enjoying the old Canon Rebel 350 DSLR camera I bought on eBay some years ago, always wishing I could justify having an even better camera: I recently bought it - the Canon 40D. It has been an easy transition from the 'rank amateur' camera to the 'semi-professional' model and the results have been fantastic!
Whilst I recognise that Canon has released a later version (and I'm sure that it has additional features) I'm more than delighted with this unit - and with the images it is producing.
Whilst I can only compare the 40D with my 350 XL, the additional weight of the new camera is an easy burden to bear given the significant additional features including - monochrome setting (and other settings that can be programmed as to contrast, colour etc); pixel count and range of image quality; auto clean of sensor; and the list goes on.

Although a discontinued model it still is far superior to current cheaper models and as a semi professional unit is a welcome piece of kit in any Canon photographer's bag.

The Canon EOS 40D is getting a little old now announcement back in 2007,But with its 10 megapixels and 3”LCD monitor magnesium alloy body and weather and splash resistance ,Not to mention can shoot at 6.5 frames per second is faster than some current Canon dslr cameras in its class.it is still a worthy camera to have.

Awesome camera. Sharper than the 7d even though it has lower pixel density. 6.5fps is very handy. Incredible Low light capabilities considering age and AF is great for action. Fantastic all-round with live view, just no video.
