I wanted a DSLR camera with excellent features and a friend has an EOS but cost 3K, well the 600D does not have all the bells and whistles but the pictrue quality and ammount of creative control is nearly equal

Coupled with the 2 lenses, this will keep me going for a very long time, it is easy to use, the lenses are excellent and coupled with a cannon 2X telephoto adaptor gives me 4 lenses

I have an old FUJI finepix DSLR which cost me 1600 10 years ago, it is still an amazing camera but the Cannon EOS just creams it in every regard, and at less than 900 AUD for the kit, I am a happy snapper

The Good:Number of Features for Price
The Bad:Would have like mini HDMI cable with camera.

This purchase was my first DSLR, so I don't have a depth of knowledge to compare with. I can say that I'm really loving the camera. It's relatively easy to use and takes great photo's and video. I bought the single lens kit.

My only small gripe is that it doesn't include a mini HDMI cable to play your high def video, but that's pretty normal these days for any electronic device.

I've found the flip out screen really useful, especially when shooting video, and the different shooting modes also are cool to play around with.

All in all a great camera for the price...

600D is an excellent camera for both beginners and professional.

Before deciding to buy this, I researched on 7D and 60D and realized that there wasn't much difference between 60D and 600D, with the latter much cheaper. 7D of course, was another league(much better).

BUT, 600D is awesome because of its super easy to use interface, you don't need to understand much about aperture or focal length as 600D have intelligent scene auto which does everything for you(just point and shoot!)

It is fantastic for beginners as each time you change the dial, information pops up to inform you what that icon does; eg Av, Tv and so on. It also comes in FULL HD recording and it's accurate and sharp on kit lens.

I guarantee that this camera will be your most loved camera, beginner plus advance skills as you advance to the more creative zone of 600D(M, Tv, Av etc)

Not worth to upgrade to a 7D or 60D, because this camera can do almost anything! Unless your thinking of full frame, better burst mode(8fps abv), 60+ AF points or even newer DIGI 5+ processer,don't bother to upgrade! Just invest your money for a kit lens upgrade like a L lens or sigma EX lens and it is just as good as 7D!!

Note: I have upgraded to a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens and it is an excellent kit lens upgrade!! Excellent for low light and portrait! Plus very close macro and wide angle at constant f/2.8. You may ask yourself why invest in a similar focal length, read it's review and you will know why! =) I upgraded from 450D and have never regretted since =)

My first digital SLR purchase & i could not be happier, i find it easy to use with excellent picture quality, there are plenty of setting to explore. May need a variety of lenses to compliment the camera capabilities & also need to purchase a memory card to operate (not supplied)
