Canon Speedlite 580EX II Regular Flash for For Canon

The flash is an excellent standard of what to expect from Canon. I've previously owned the 430EX II which is a great piece of equipment. I've looked into the 580EX II for it's master controlling over the other models which was great for my work which needed off camera flashing.

The build quality of the 580EX II is absolutely superb whilst retaining this great feel about it that just makes you want to caress it all day long, much like an L lens.

It dominates the 430EX II in terms of size which I thought was nice. The weight is a bit heavier which may be a negative thing to some people though, considering it being weather sealed and slightly more powerful and containing more features than the 430EX II, I couldn't care less. The flash card is also a nice addition to it as well. Comes in very handy at times with its portability.

You don't need me to tell you of how great this flash is. It caters to all types of photographers and meets the needs of many with its amazing capabilities as oppopsed to other models.

It certainly proves it's worth in the line of Speedlites and I have no regrets AT ALL in buying it.

It is very superb to have Canon Speedlite 580EX II.
the manual is so easy to follow if you are the beginner using speedlite.
another thing that superb is this speedlite has many features like autozoom, rotation, wireless etc

I always wanted a 580EX II. I am an event photographer. and 580EX II enables me to capture people in low light conditions without using high ISO that could potentially add a lot of noises in the image. I love the build quality of this flash, though it is a bit heavy.
Overall, it's a great flash who can be only competed by the new flash Speedlite 600!

I checked almost all SLR flash before I buy this one. I have Canon D 550 now and I know when ever I want to upgrade my camera I can use this flash with most of best SLR cameras.
I used for several catalog photos and Im realt happy with result.

you will pay a little bit extra but Im sure you will be happy after first use.

Genuine canon flash and as expected, works seemlessly with canon eos cameras. ETTLII is brilliant on my 5d mark II with 24-105 L lens. I also have a non-genuine flash that in some online reviews, is meant to be good, but really, after using both flashs, the 580EX II is alot better (and also has better build quality)and the weather sealing is an added bonus. They do hold their value so can be quite expensive used, but since the 600ex flash has now been released, some professionals may now be upgrading and you may find a good used 580EX II flash at a great price.
