Fujifilm FinePix X100 12.3 MP Digital Camera - Black

This camera has been one of the most talked about cameras in 2011. The quality and white colour balancing is exceptional, i haven't seem another SLR or compact camera deliver such good quality pictures and colour.

The only con is the focusing. It does take sometime to focus in low light and when you are within about 1m of the object (which you will need to switch to macro mode). The focusing issue seems to be due to a firmware issue, so hope Fujifilm will be able to work on it soon.

I tried the X10 model and Fujifilm seemed to have fixed that issue with that new model.

I bought this X100 because of the quality and the weight. Even though its fixed focus, it is still a very good camera. Hope there will be more of such high quality cameras to come.

X100 is a nice camera to carry around. The quality of the photo can match many entry to middle level DSLR with no problem. I am not sure if this is the right camera for a beginner. But if you know basics of photograph, like exposure, ISO, focal length, and etc, this should be the right camera for you. With its inexchanable lens, you focus more on how to frame a good picture, instead of trying out which focal length should be u sed. In a word, this is the camera that brings photography back. HIghly recommended.
