One of the more attractive Brick Smart Phones out there!!

 | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Q: Why did you purchase this product?

This is probably said time and time again about HTC phones (CNET reviews) which is that for a company that until recently made no name for itself from a Taiwanese Company, it offers a separation of coolness from the rest of the sheep in Australia.

Next time you pop in the office while you notice that your the only lamp amongst the sheep of Apple users, tell them I like Lamb, it's delicious.

Q: What do you like and dislike about the product?

Likes:
1.) The Male Order Version of the HTC phones.
2.) For a 4"3 inch screen, it is better price valued than the Sensation and Evo 3D in the current market. (specs are almost identical due to the limitations of improving Smart phones these days).
3.) Considered the Older and "Thug" brother to the newer Incredible S. Can be serviced and upgraded with a high capacity HTC replacement battery (1600 mmAh) and an additional 16gb micro sd for memory.

Dislikes (Nitpicking):
1.) Brutish fingers set aside, the Standby/off button is tiny in comparison to Incredible S and your typical Smart phone. Finding to press the button instinctively is comparable to finding Wally.
2.) Weight? As previously mentioned about being gender specific, this class of phone weighs a bit more with a casing cover (approx total 165 to 170g).
3.) Battery and MicroHCSD SD envy? Making comparisons to the slightly newer version of this phone which is the Incredible S, it does have the weaker specs: 1250 mmAh to the 1450mmAh and additional 6gb micro sd to the 16gb micro sd in the Incredible S. The only victory: the internal memory for the Desire HD is 400 mb larger! Everything else is exactly the same!!

Q: How does this product compare to others?

A: Where to start with the comparisons? Well, if you consider that all smartphones are typically approx. 5 inches with a 4 inch screen diagonally, how does this fare to the Samsung Galaxy S II, the popular (but contradictorily claimed exclusive) Apple iPhone 3gs or 4, LG Optimus, and the rarely heard of Acer Stream S110?

All HTC Smart phones have a great Jaguar type Styling to them that they present a level of class for MOSTLY men to behold. So in terms of uniqueness they can be appealing for those that want to look like a different type of corporate tool.

Q: How does this fare to other HTC Desire and HTC phones?

A: The natural assumption is that each HTC phone are clones of each other. The reality is that if you didn't have a scientist's observational eye you would most definitely think so.

On general glance, the Desire HD looks like all the rest of the HTC Desires: HTC Desire S, HTC Desire Z, and Desire. It even has the same specs: 8mp camera, 1gb processor, same 768 ram, same 1.3 mp front camera, and 720 HD video recording capabilities.

But the incredible S has been finitely bred to remove some clumsy features such as the standby button, the battery lid isn't going to be shredded by your hands, the camera is stylishly better placed, can be purchased outright and is not exclusive to the Next G network in Aus, and there's an infinitesimal better colour to the S.

But then why get the Desire HD? Size matters as I've been told.

Overall: Surprise, Surprise, in comparison to the Apple iPhone the specs are a lot better in the HTC Desire HD. It uses Google Android and has HTC sense which allows it to be user-friendlier found using tracking capabilities. A must have for the Dark Knight amongst the White Knights of phone users in Aus.

I love my HTC Desire and so glad I took the advice of the salesperson and brought it and not the Iphone. I have compared it to friends iphones and in my opinion the HTC is superior. Within 3-6 months of buying a phone I normally hate it as it won't do what I want or breaks down. I have bought the popular brands of Nokia & Samsung and swear never to get them again due to them being unreliable and hopeless after sales service. I have had the HTC for a year now and still love it as it does everything I want & more. There are lots of free apps, it's fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it and integrates & synchronizes with all my google accounts and facebook. It's like taking a mini computer with me everywhere I go. I use it as my pedometer and food & weight guide, my GPS, my shopping lists, check my ebay, manage my appointments, see the weather forecast locally and internationally & so much more. Oh, I also use it as a phone!
The downside is, as with all electronic and smartware, it sometimes loses it's way and reverts my settings and calender will go back to 1980. Usually a refresh will fix the problem. Also the battery life is terrible. If I use my apps the way I like it flattens the battery really quick and sometimes have to recharge 2-3 times a day but as I have a spare battery with me I just change it over and recharge the other one. There are lots of cheap accessory's on eBay for the phone so don't buy them in the shop.

Overall, I highly recommend this phone over any that I have seen and will stick to HTC from now on.

By far one of the best phones i have ever owned.

The HTC Desire HD is jam packed with features.

I purchased mine second hand on eBay because it was a cheap phone packed to the rafters with great features.

From the 8MP Camera to the 720P Video recording, right through to its ability to become a "Wifi Router" this little phone has pulled through.

When the internet goes down, we simply fire up the wifi router app and keep working, using my mobile data instead.

It has taken hits, bashes and even some water and it is still going strong.

The one thing i have noticed is that the battery life is starting to die. Im only getting 1 day from a fully charged battery now, but the battery that is in it is now 2 years old...

Overal, a great phone

HTC's have really changed the way we would use phones in the sence of multi-tasking eg; download music and web browse and theres no lagging what so ever. Its an ideal phone but the battery needs to be replaced with the 2430Mah battery which could be purchased on e-bay for a longer life spand.

Its a good product...abit complicated if you are not used to smart phones...but applications and games a great screen is very responsive. Some negatives are if you use apps a lot the battery will run out quickly but having a spare battery on charge while phone is in use make it so much more easier to keep using phone without much disruptions.
