THE LENS PERFORMS WELL UP TO 100MM AT 5.6 ONCE YOU GO PAST 100MM AND 6.5 I GET THE AUTOFOCUS PROBLEMS, IF YOU ARE TRYING TO CAPTURE THE MOMEMENT QUICKLY, MOST TIMES FOR ME AND MY 7D IT WILL LET ME DOWN, I HAVE FOUND THAT TAKING IT OF OF SPOT FOCUS AND PUTTING THE ISO UP TO AROUND 400, IT WILL FOCUS STRAIGHT AWAY, THE PHOTOS ARE REASONABLE AS GOOD AS ANY STANDARD CANON LENS, I STILL LIKE THE LENS AND WOULD RECOMEND IT IF YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT.

Great lens, picture quality is great and the size for such a large lens is amazing. I can fit the camera with this lens in the same case I used to put it in with the 18-53mm lens.

) This is a great lens, after a lot of research i decided this was the lens I wanted for my new Canon 550d. I found out that it was far better than the standard canon kit lens. I am so glad that i bought this lens and am extremely happy with it. I am now going to buy the Tamron 1750 non vc lens as a partner to this lens.I would recommend this lens to anybody that wants that extra over the kit lens. Also this lens has VC an image stabilization.
