| The Tamron SP AF 17 mm - 50 mm lens is an aspherical zoom lens for use with Canon digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras. It features the maximum aperture of f/2.8 and has fast shutter speeds. The Tamron lens has a natural soft focus for excellent results in photographs. The Tamron SP AF lens includes three XR glass elements and two hybrid aspherical elements. In addition, the Tamron SP AF 17 mm - 50 mm lens offers a minimum focus distance of 27 cm for excellent close-up shots. This Tamron lens has an internal coating to eliminate ghosting and flare in pictures, as well. The Tamron SP AF lens weighs 431 g total. It measures less than 7.6 cm in diameter and is only 8.4 cm in length. The Tamron SP AF 17 mm - 50 mm lens works well for portrait shots and is designed to bring photos into focus quickly. It also reduces chromatic aberration for high-quality photos with sharp, clear colours. | |

) This is a great lens for those on a budget who don't want to pay the big bucks for an 'L' series Canon lens. The f2.8 is great for low light conditions and the image quality is reasonably sharp. The auto focus is a bit noisy but it still works fine and has no problems focusing in bright conditions. The size of the lens is also great for those who don't like big heavy lenses. The lens hood fits nicely over the lens in storage and the squeeze lens cap is great. If you are a Pro and want pro results, go for L series Canons, they are the best on the market. If you are an amateur who wants good results, this lens is a better option than the standard Canon consumer lenses.

) Got this lens since my only other was a Canon 50mm f/2.8.
Great lens, from club shots to car photos. Very happy and just as good as Canon, just alot cheaper! Well designed, great feel.
