Utilising the familiar party game design, Wii Party allows up to four players to compete against one another in a variety of games. The Nintendo Wii video game takes a number of cues from Nintendo's other party game franchise, Mario Party, but manages to make this game distinct from that series. Wii users are expected to have designed Miis, digital avatars of themselves, and the game allows players to select their Miis to represent them during this game as well. One of the primary modes of play for Wii Party is based on a giant board game that players advance their Miis along through dice rolls. Each square that the player lands on in this Nintendo Wii video game can have positive or negative effects and help determine the next mini game that will be played. In addition to this primary mode, players can select from a number of others to give the party game a degree of versatility. Wii Party has 70 mini games to keep players entertained and the gameplay fresh.
