About to sell your faulty iPhone? Read this first!

I have noticed that many people are selling their faulty or damaged iPhones on eBay.

Here are some things to consider before listing it on eBay.

1. Check the warranty status at www.apple.com.au/support. Click on 'Check your Service and Support Coverage', type in the serial number and it will tell you if the product is still covered under AppleCare warranty, if it is, you may get it serviced directly by Apple free of charge (no proof of purchase necessary). However, it needs to be free of liquid or physical damage. You would need to visit an Apple owned store, or contact Apple directly to go through the warranty procedure. This is valid for Australian models only.

2. If the product is physically damaged or liquid damaged, Apple will normally replace the entire phone for around $250, regardless of whether it is in warranty or not. It may be worth paying to get it replaced and then reselling for more money!
