Alfa Romeo 75 Super 3.0 Ltr V6
If the 2.5 V6 engine helped give the first Alfa 75 a "Sports Sedan" like character with lively and responsive performance, then the upgrade in capacity to 3.0 Ltrs gave new meaning to the colloquial term "Grunt".
Here at last the marvellous all alloy V6 engine was begainning to show it's true potential.
The extra capacity was achieved by increasing bore and stroke to 93mm x 72.6mm giving a total displacement of 2959cc.
Maximum power went up from 156 hp to 180 hp (DIN) with a similar increase in torque.
This translates into around 16 sec for the 400m and a zero to 100 kph time of around 8 sec.
The gearbox ratios remain the same as the 2.5 V6 except for a higher final drive.
To compliment the already high traction levels provided by the De Deon rear axle, a limited slip differential was fitted to both Twinspark and 3.0 Ltr versions of the 75 Super.
This feature gave improved stability in adverse driving conditions.
