All HK HT HG parts are NOT the same!!!!!!!!!

HI TO ALL. JUST A QUICK NOTE TO LET OTHER EBAYERS KNOW THAT NOT ALL HK HT AND HG PARTS ARE THE SAME. HERE ARE SOME QUICK DIFFERENCES!!

INTERIOR!

THERE ARE DIFFERENT COLOUR WOODGRAIN IN THESE CARS DEPENDING ON MODEL

HK HAS DARK WOOD GRAIN

HT HAS ROSEWOOD GRAIN

HG HAS WALNUT GRAIN

THE GLOVEBOXES ALSO ARE VERY DIFFERENT.

HK HAS THE METAL LID ON BELMONT AND KINGSWOOD/BASE MONARO HAS A PLASTIC STRIP ON THE BOTTOM WITH KINGSWOOD OR MONARO MOLDED INTO IT IN RUNNING WRITING. PREMIER, BROUGHAM AND GTS MONARO HAS A STRIP AT THE BOTTOM WITH A DARK WOOD INSERT WITH A BADGE (PREMIER/BROUGHAM/GTS).

HT AND HG BELMONT, KINGSWOOD AND BASE MONARO HAVE A BLACK TEXTURE FINISH WITH A CHROME SURROUND.

HT PREMIER AND GTS MONARO HAVE A PREMIER/GTS BADGE AT THE BOTTOM LEFT STILL WITH THE BLACK TEXTURE FINNISH AND CHROME SURROUND.

HT BROUGHAM HAS A ROSEWOOD FINNISH WITH A CHROME SURROUND AND A BROUGHAM BADGE IN THE BOTTOM LEFT.

HG BROUGHAM AND GTS MONARO HAS A WALNUT FINNISH WITH A CHROME SURROUND AND A BROUGHAM/GTS BADGE IN THE BOTTOM LEFT. 

HK HAS A COMPLETLY DIFFERENT DASH FROM THE HT'S AND HG'S. IT HAS A LONG BAR TYPE SPEEDO AND THERE ARE 2 WARNING LIGHTS/GAUGES ON EACH END.

HT HAS A DASH WITH 2 ROUND GAUGES IN THE MIDDLE AND BROUGHAM/GTS MONARO HAS 2 EXTRA SMALLER GAUGES NEXT TO THE LARGER ONES. WITH BROUGHAM RUNNING A CLOCK IN ITS DASH. HT GTS DASH (OR SPORTS DASH AS THAT IS IT'S PROPER NAME) HAS AN ADJUSTABLE TACHO REDLINE NEEDLE "HG DOES NOT".

HG GTS/SPORTS DASH IS THE SAME AS THE HT EXCEPT FOR THE TACHO AS STATED.

BY THE WAY AT THE TIME THESE CARS WHERE BOUGHT YOU COULD ORDER A SPORTS DASH THAT HAD THE "GTS" GAUGES FOR A LITTLE EXTRA MONEY. HK ONES HAD A 120mph SPEEDO IN THERE SPORTS DASH.

BY THE WAY ALL MODEL GTS DASHES HAD THE 140MPH SPEEDO.

I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE LISTING A DASH, SOME WOODGRAIN INSERTS OR GLOVEBOX etc... TO SUIT "HK HT HG" BUT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.

EVEN UNDER THESE CARS ARE DIFFERENT. HK'S HAVE THE GEARBOX BOLT TO THE FLOORPAN WHERE HT'S AND HG'S BOLT TO TWO RAILS THAT EXTEND FROM THE INNER "Y" FRAME SECTION. THIS WAS PUT IN THESE LATER MODELS FOR THE CRASH ZONE. IF YOU HAVE A PRANG IN A HK THE MOTOR WILL COME BACK IN TO THE FIRE WALL WHERE AS THE HT'S AND HG'S ARE MADE FOR THE FRONT TO TILT UP DROPPING THE GEARBOX DOWN AND SLIDING THE MOTOR UNDER THE CAR (MIND YOU IT HAS TO BE A BIG HIT!!!).

HK FRONT ENDS/CROSS MEMBERS HAVE STEEL BUSHED WISH BONES WHERE AS HT AND HG HAVE RUBBER BUSHES. THEY EVER HAVE DIFFERENT NOSE PEICES WITH LATER HT'S AND HG'S HAVING THE SIDE OF THE NOSE BLANKED IN WITH NO HOLES. I HAVE SEEN SOME LATE HG'S FULL BLANK WITH NO HOLES AT ALL.

EVEN THE DISC BRAKES THAT WHERE ON THESE ARE DIFFERENT.

HK HAVE THE STANDARD "THINNER ROTORS" WHERE AS HT V8'S HAVE A 3mm THICKER DISC AND A SPACER PLATE BETWEEN THE 2 HALFS OF THE CALIPER. EARLY HG'S HAVE THE SAME BUT THE LATER ONES 6cyl OR V8 HAVE THE THICKER DISCS.

I HOPE THAT SOME OF THIS INFO HELPS PEOPLE BUY THE RIGHT PARTS FOR THERE GREAT HK'S HT'S OR HG'S.
