Foundation

Applying your foundation correctly sets up the base for the rest of your makeup, but most importantly helps it look natural and flawless.

For applying liquid foundation our favourites are:

GloMinerals Luxe Foundation Brush: This flat top Kabuki brush allows you to buff your foundation onto your skin in an even circular motion creating a flawless finish. This brush can also be used for blending in contour or highlight colours and has been voted the number 1 favourite brush by The Beauty Club editors.

Estee Lauder Foundation Brush: No foundation brush has ever been as timeless as the paddle foundation brush, it has lasted through all the fads and remains one of the top selling brushes today. It can be used on a diverse range of products including BB and CC creams and concealer.

Our favourite powder foundation brush:

Bare Escentuals Full Coverage Kabuki Brush: No one quite does powder foundations like Bare Escentuals and the same goes for powder brushes. This rounded Kabuki brush lightly collects powder and evenly distributes it across the face. For best results, buff the powder on in light circular motions.

Eyeshadow

If anybody is still using those tiny foam applicators to apply their eyeshadow, please put them down and walk carefully away. Applying eyeshadow with brushes will create a much softer and well blended look.

These two brushes that are a must have:

Elizabeth Arden Eye Shadow Brush: This flat applicator brush spreads eyeshadow evenly and lightly across the lid making it less likely to crease than traditional sponge applicators. This brush can also be used with cream eyeshadow products.

Chanel Les Pinceaux De Chanel Large Tapered Blending Brush #19: Every makeup enthusiast needs at least one eyeshadow blending brush so they can create two toned, smokey eyeshadow looks. The tapered head of this blending brush makes it ideal for blending darker shades into the crease to accentuate the eyes.

Powder & Cheek

Just one of these two favourite multipurpose brushes can replace an entire drawer full of powder brushes making them one of your most valuable makeup tools.

Our favourite powder brushes:

GloMinerals Luxe Setting Powder Brush: The soft bristles and tapered head of this brush make it perfect for lightly applying powder on top of your foundation. This can be a setting powder to increase the longevity of your makeup or adding a blush to your cheeks.

NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush: This multipurpose brush is one of makeup artist Rae Morris's must-haves. He describes it as a little ball of fairy floss that can be used for just about anything. It is perfect for applying powder, bronzer, blush and highlighter and for any of your blending needs.
