Collecting Australian Law Enforcement patches, Badges and other insignia is a passion for both serving members and the general public, but in recent time of terrorist threats to Australia and other parts of the world it has become increasingly important to make sure that certain items are kept out of the public domain. As such ANY THING that is a current unifrom issue and an obsolete item which looks similar to current issue, should not be put up for sale on Ebay, Social patches from Various units and squads which are not worn operationally are ok to put on EBAY. Items which are not offical issue, IE Olympic and Commonwealth Games Pins ect.
Historical Patches and badges are great items for Ebay with such a large market, old historical badges are highly sort after and pose no threat to any organastion or service. Please note that most offical insignia is owned by that organisation and making copies and selling them is illegal in most countries. Uniform Items are issued to police to do a job, and in most cases are accountable items and should be returned on leaving the service. This is a guide only to making sure that only items for collecting purposes end up on Ebay.
They have a strict policy in Australia on the distribution of accountable police items. Happy Collecting and remember if in doubt about your items speak to fellow collectors or police.
