A brief guide to Silver Jewelry care
Some silver jewerly wearers like to polish the piece very well to reflect light and show its real 'Bling'
Others like their silver jewelry developing a bit of tarnish(oxidization) over time adding to the character of the piece.
Some metal artists use technigues to add tarnish to their metals giving it a more rustic or aging look to a piece.
Commonly silver is Sterling Silver which is 92.5% Silver and 7.5% other metals usually copper. All silver unless Fine Silver (.999) has fractions of other metals added to strengthen the object as silver itself is soft. These other metals along with silver can oxidize just by being out in the open air.
After wearing your silver jewelry, clean your silver using a 'polishing' clothspecifically designed for jewelry then keep stored out of the air. Also keep silver stored separately to other jewelry to avoid scratches or dents. The more pure the silver the better but softer too.
