Thank you for visiting our Common Question page, the questions below are the most common we are asked.

First of All

We have been specializing in and supplying Sonotech Ultrasonic Fetal Doppler's since 2008, all our Doppler's are TGA approved (Dept of Health Australia) and come with a 1 Year Australian Warranty
against faults serviced directly through us.

Most Doppler s you will find on eBay do not meet Australian Standards and are manufcatured according to domestic appliance standards unlike Sonotech which surpass all medical grade device standards and distributed through the medical device industry.

Doppler Suitability?

In terms of suitability it does come down to preference and your personal situation.

For example, our Lite model is a reliable basic unit which gives you the ability to listen to the heartbeat, providing piece of mind, however it is not equipped with Feta Heart rate reading
like our Xpress model and doesn't have the advanced diagnostic features of our Advanced model. We do suggest that if a pregnancy is high risk, or there have been complications previously , the Advanced
model is most suitable, however if all things are relatively normal and you are simply after piece of mind and assurance either our Lite or Xpress models are more than suitable, then its simply a case of whether you want listen to the heartbeat only (Lite), or wish to listen to the heartbeat and view the Fetal heart Rate (Xpress).

Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

Features of the Advanced model compared with others?

Hands down , the best model is our Advanced model Sonotech Pro, full equpped with advanced diagnostic functions and graphical representations it is not uncommon to find our Advanced model used in \a clinical environment. Lightweight, easy to operate makes it just as suitable for expecting parents and at a price much less than you would pay elsewhere.

With our other models, one is specifically for home use and detects the heartbeat but is not equipped with FHR (Fetal Heart Rate), the other whilst having FHR function does not have a range of functions which the
Advanced model does.

What it comes down to is suitability.

Additional features of the Advanced model listed below:

High Resolution Colour LCD Display

Three working modes – 1-RealTime FHR 2-Averaged FHR 3-Manual FHR Mode

FHR Graphic Representation including – Straight FHR Reading, Waveform reading and Histogram display

Standalone 2Mhz Ultrasonic Probe

Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

Probe Sensitivity : 2 or 3 MHz

3MHZ is more sensitive than 2MHZ and can detect the heartbeat easier in the very early stages however it not recommended to use a Doppler before 10 weeks in most cases. At 12 weeks it generally makes no difference which probe is used once the baby moves up out of the pelvic region.

Having said this, a 2MHZ probe is proven to be more effective in overweight people and therefore offers some advantage over the 3MHZ probe from 12 weeks.

All our Dopplers use Ultrasound tehcnology they are not prenatal listeners which use a a type of microphone mechanism. Sonotech Doppler are produced by leading medical device manufacturer and far superior to similar products you will find on eBay.
