Rug Sizing

All Charlie Brown Horse Rug sizes are derived from the International sizing structure, which measures from the centre of the chest to the end of the rump. This system is the easiest and most accurate way to measure a horse and will ensure a great fit every time. The system is designed to have the least amount of sizes available to avoid confusion but also provide a rug size for every size of horse. If this system is followed closely there is no need for ‘custom’ rug sizes from small independent rug companies which simply lock you into buying from them every time and do not provide a better fit for your horse or provide a decent range of premium rugs.

Below is a diagram to better illustrate the correct method of measuring your horse for rug sizing. The measurement should be taken from the centre of the horses chest, around the left hand side, along the body and stop when inline with the end of the horses rump. This measurement can then be converted into inches using the calculator at Horserugs.com.au/sizingcare.htm and the correct rug can be ordered.

New Zealand customers please note. The New Zealand sizing system is different to the International sizing system. To convert from New Zealand sizes to International sizes please add 1’3” to the New Zealand size. The table at horserugs.com.au/sizingcare.htm should act as a guide.

Rug Care

Charlie Brown All Weather Day Rugs

Easily machine washable separately in cold water with a small amount of washing powder to help lift tough marks and stains. This rug is extremely easy to keep clean as it is very porus and strong. The rug should then be hung out to dry in a well-ventilated area.

Winter Rugs

Can be machine-washed in cold water separately with no detergents or washing powder as the chemicals can remove the waterproofing. When finished the rug should be hung out to dry in a well-ventilated area with the outer coating facing up.

Fly Veil

The Charlie Brown Fly Veil with ears can be machine-washed in cold water with little or no washing powder or detergents. It is very hardy and due to the mesh construction doesn’t soil easily. To dry, simply hang in a well-ventilated area.

Satin Bib

The Charlie Brown Satin Bib can be machine-washed in cold water with or without washing powder and detergents. Dries easily due to satin construction in a well ventilated area.
