OZ2-D2 Custom

This guide was kindly given to me by one of my eBay clients. Just one example of how creative you can get when you have replacement stickers to work with.

"OZ2-D2 Custom" : I started by removing the existing original cruddy conditioned sticker & lightly sanding the dome, body & legs with "Tamiya Finishing Abrasive" 1000 grit paper. I then painted the droid's dome with 2 coats of "BrushNLeaf" Liquid Metallic Finish (Interior Gold Leaf). I then used a white cotton rag & polished the white acrylic body and legs with "Tamiya Polishing Compound (Fine then Finish)". Now carefully apply the shiny new decal and custom paint the dome and legs with your choice of colour using "Tamiya Colour Enamel Paint" ( note: I custom mixed the green on this droid to match the new decal ). Allow 1-3 days in sun for enamel to fully harden/dry. Finally, I lightly coated all parts of the newly created droid with an exterior gloss varnish ( tip: take your droid apart with a Phillips head, and coat legs, body and dome separately to avoid bonding of moving parts ) & allow to fully dry in sun for 3-5 days. Now you can reassemble your new, "Custom R2 Droid"!! Enjoy..
