Frost tender?

Sure are. lets not fool anybody here, agave attenuata are definately bitten by jack frost. So what to do? 1. Elevate, that is if your agave is potted, then lets move it up off the ground during the colder months. a table, bench etc 2. Shadecloth, or even better, move under full cover, but appropriately so as to still allow for natural sunlight to reach partly during the day. 3. If buying new agaves, go for the "tree" variety instead. The added height helps avoid the lower lying frosts, and when planting in the ground, the tree will produce a much greater number of pups than any potted equivalent sized agave. cheers
