Poker is a growing worldwide phenomenon and increasing many people are interested in buying poker chips and accessories from eBay for their own games and fun. This guide will give a brief overview of what poker chips to buy and what not to buy to get the best value for money.

Whether you're playing for fun or just want to practice those poker chip tricks, poker chips are a necessity. Poker chips come in a variety of qualities, ranging from thin, light-weight, plastic chips to thicker, heavier, ceramic chips. Generally, the price of the thinner, plastic chips is much lower than those of the thicker, ceramic chips. The reason for this is simply because the thin, plastic chips are cheaper to manufacture. Conversely, the thicker, ceramic, chips are generally more expensive. There are also medium quality chips, which are usually a higher density plastic (heavier), or a low quality ceramic.

So which type should you buy? Well if you want the look and feel of real casino style chips, you can go past the top quality ceramic chips. Sure they may be more expensive, but they are the best quality also. On the other hand, if you just want some chips which can be used as currency in a poker game with mates, then maybe the medium or low range quality chips will suffice. I think however the look and feel of the "real" poker chips adds to the whole experience of playing poker, with friends or at a casino.

When purchasing on eBay, shop around. There are many, many people offering poker chips at a range of prices. Make sure you buy from a reputable seller (good feedback, long-time member, etc) at a price you're comfortable with.

Hopefully this guide was useful for you, and you can now go and make a good selection when purchasing poker chips.
