When buying a book always check:-
1. The seller's feedback. This is essential. You need to know if this seller is reliable. This information can be gathered via the feedback.
2. The condition of the book. Are all the pages there? Any rips, tears, used book stamps/markings? Is the book a hardback edition. Is the book a small paperback or large paperback. Is the book large print. A lot of people sell their books as a large print book when it is really just a large paperback edition. Ask questions about the book if there is no blurb, never feel afraid to ask the seller. If you need more information, look up the author's name via the internet.
3. First Editions- you need to ask the seller questions if you are a serious collector. Ask for a scan of the information page which gives you the information you need. You will get caught if you do not ask questions or look at pictures which give you some indication that you are bidding on what is advertised.
4. Postage- Postage is always based on weight of books. Most sellers put books in bags of $4.90 or $8.60 red and white postal satchels. If you want bubble wrap you are usually charged extra. Always check the postage costs, as it would be cheaper for you if you buy in bulk from one seller.
