CARING FOR YOUR SHOES

Every woman who loves her shoes will treat them with tender, loving care because they absolutely deserve it for being so fabulous on your feet!

Use the following tips to ensure your shoes love you & never leave you!

STORAGE

Ensure you store your shoes in a box that is strong & also protects it from any dust & moisture.   Clear Storage Boxes are great for organising your wardrobe, making it easier for you to find your shoes without opening every box & most importantly protects from dust & moisture.

Material Shoe Bags are great for travelling as it is light, generally washable & again protects your shoes + other items in your luggage.  Your shoes will love sleeping in it too ;)

SHOES MUST BE STORED IN THE CORRECT POSITION

Your shoes should be 'top to tail' when in your storage box, ensuring that both heels are facing out.  Separate the shoes with the tissue provided or in their individual shoe bags.  Remember to dispose/remove any plastic sticks or objects in the box that may scratch or damage your shoes.

If you have a booty or shoe-shaper, even better!

HEEL OR STILETTO PROTECTORS

These are wonderful for the races or anywhere you have to stand on grass or mushy ground!  They will stop you from sinking into the ground & prevent embarrassing falls.

Great also for protecting fabric covered heels from mud & all sorts of nasties on the ground!

WATERPROOFING

It is so important to water proof your shoes with a good water protector which can be found at most shoes stores and/or shoe repair shops and of course online.  Generally you would spray at a distance of approximately 20cm, 2-3 time before use.  Allow time for your shoes to dry in between sprays & spray lightly to avoid drowning your shoes.  Otherwise, follow the instructions provided on the can of water proofer.

SUEDE / FABRIC SHOES

Ensure you waterproof these type of shoes as instructed above.

Use only the products made specifically for the material of your shoes & remember to do a test patch on a non-visible part of your shoe before attempting to clean a large stain.

Suede erase or cleaning blocks can be used to remove dirt deeply embedded in your shoes.

After cleaning use a brush specifically for the material of your shoes.  Brush lightly to restore it to its original condition.

SMOOTH LEATHER

Remove dirt & marks with a leather cleaner specifically for smooth leather.  These can be found in most shoe stores, shoe repair shops or online.

PATENT SHOES

Patent is a treated leather with a high-gloss finish.  Never have your patent shoes touching & keep them separated with tissue paper or a material bag while in their box.

To remove marks remember to do a patch test first on a non-visible part of the the shoe.

Use a soft lint-free cloth with eucalyptus oil & gently rub over the mark until it disappears.

CLEANING PU LEATHER or PVC SHOES

Wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth (a small amount of water only).

Never use household cleaners on PU or PVC as they are often abrasive & can cause colour loss and/or remove the surface.

REMOVING PEN OR BIRO

Try spraying a small amount of hairspray on the mark & gently remove with a soft cloth.

Some inks can be removed by using white eraser.  Chux magic eraser can also work well on dark colours.

REMOVING LIPSTICK

Try vegetable oil with a soft cloth & remember to use just a little bit first & then increase if necessary.

PATCH TESTING

Always remember to do a patch test first on a non-visible area of your shoe.
