Not feeling like doing what you know you must? Be it cleaning, essays, writing letters, there are 2 hints that have helped me get stuff done with the minimum of emotional pain, and get on with my life.
no.1: When you need to clean a room, and its just too messy, and you dont know where to start.
Allocate 3 minutes only to the task. In that 3 minutes, try as hard as you can to clean everything up. You will be surprised how much you get done! It will be more manageable, or even almost done!
no.2: When you have a whole bunch of stuff to do for work/school, and you are overwhelmed.
Firstly, write a list of all the things you need to do. Then, go through them systematically, and spend 5 minutes only on each. That way, its much more interesting, you stay focussed, and you chip away at your tasks, one by one!
