f you are reading this article, then you either...

(a) Own an Xbox 360 and want to do all that you can to protect it from contracting the dreaded "Red Ring Of Death" syndrome.

(b) Are unsure of whether to purchase an Xbox 360 because of the massive failure rate of this console.

************************************************************

The reasons why the Xbox 360 contracts the "Red Ring Of Death" syndrome...

(a) The combined heat emissions of the GPU and the rotating MEDIA DISC produces too much heat, thus damaging the "soldering" of the circuits making the Xbox 360 unable to process the data properly!  A simple procedure can be implemented to rectify this problem and ensure that your console "never ever" overheats again!

(b) You have "defective" hardware installed in your Xbox 360.  If this is the prognosis of your console, your baby is living on burrowed time and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it!  My sincerest condolonces to you if this is your case!  Trust me, I feel your pain!

How to protect your little bundle of joy...

Firstly, you will need the folling items.  I know that a "surge protector" is not listed below, but ask any hardcore gamer and they will tell you that you should NEVER EVER plug your console directly to the wall outlet!

(1) A 12 inch ruler
(2) A electric fan (size will vary according to set-up!)
(3) A small, but sturdy table (you might not need this!)
(4) Air Can

Things you should NEVER EVER DO to your baby:

(1) Put it in an enclosed space!  The biggest culprit of these incidences are "Home Entertainment Stands" that are designed accomadate the TV, Receiver, etc...

(2) Put it inside of the freezer to "cool it down."  Doing this will only result in damaging your console!  Remember, water and electricity don't mix!  Yes, apparently some people need to be told not to do this!

Setting your baby up...

(1)  If your console is in a "Home Entertainment Stand," take it out from there!  I know this will make the set-up look akward, but this will definitely help your baby out!  If your first comment upon reading this is "This is so stupid, what kind of moron would do this?"  Do yourself a favor and stop reading now.  If your Xbox 360 "never" breaks down, consider yourself lucky!  If it does "break down" because your thought that my advice was stupid and left it in the "Entertainment Stand,"  you will never know if it broke down because of (a) or (b) in my "The reasons why the Xbox 360 contracts the "Red Ring Of Death" syndrome"

(2) Set-up your baby on the "small, but sturdy table" if there is no "sturdy surface" that you can use as a substitute.  Set your baby up "vertically."

(3) Take the "12 inch ruler" and GENTLY put it vertically moving away from the "exhaust area" that is located on the back of the unit.  If the ruler does not fit, then adjust it so that the ruler "can" fit.  The more space that you have, the healthier your baby is going to be!  Now, do the same thing for the left and right side, but use 6 inches instead; remember it has to be horizontally moving away from the console's sides and please be GENTLE.  The reason that I am saying GENTLE is because you might accidentally knock your console down to the floor!

(4) Put the "electric fan" 1 inch away from your Xbox 360 faceplate.  Make sure that the fan is clean and clear of dust!  The faceplate has to face the fan!

Instructions and maintenance...

(1) Obviously, you HAVE TO MOVE the electric fan away from your baby when loading the media disc!  Return the electric fan into position afterwards.

(2) Turn the electric fan ON.  Now, take the "12 inch ruler" and put it vertically moving away from the "exhaust area." Can you feel the wind at the end of the ruler?  If you cannot feel it, crank up the speed until you can feel it!  From now on, NEVER EVER use your baby without the electric fan.  Yes, this will consume "a little more" electricity to do, but in my opinion it is worth it!  If you have a powerful electric fan, DO NOT blast it to full power!  Once again, DO NOT blast it to full power!  Just enough to the point when you can feel a "moderately powerful breeze" scrape the sides of your Xbox 360.  Make sure that the wind passes by the "middle sections" of the left and right side.

(3) As far as maintenance is concerned, observe the fan and make sure that it does not get dusty; clean it as necessary!  Use the "air can" every 2 weeks on the exhaust area, the inside of the flap of the "wired control pad" and the 4 hole strips located on the top and bottom of the left and right side of your console.

CONGRATULATIONS!  YOUR SYSTEM WILL NEVER OVERHEAT AGAIN!  IF IT DOES BREAK DOWN, THEN IT IS A RESULT OF "DEFECTIVE HARDWARE," NOT OVERHEATING!  NOW YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
