How to schedule an eBay auction?

eBay allows sellers to schedule an auction to start at a later date than listing it immediately. This is a very helpful tool for those sellers who have time only once a week or occasionally to create their listings, but do not want to list them at that time. Thus, sellers can use this option to create a listing up to 21 days prior to actually having it go live on eBay.

Here are the steps that will allow you to do so:

- Login to your account and go to the ‘Sell’ link and under it click on the Sell Now option.
- Create your auction with all the necessary details. This includes the product name, the category under which you want to list it, a great keyword rich title, relevant description, clear photos of the item you are selling, your choice as to auction listing or Buy It Now listing, and finally the fixed price that you want for your product or the starting bid, whatever the case may be.
- Once the listing has been created, please recheck it to see that there are no errors.
- Next, you will have to select the duration of the listing. The default setting is ‘Start listing immediately’. You will have to manually change this default setting to ‘Schedule start time’.
- There is a date wizard on eBay that allows you to choose your preferred time and date for listing your auction. Do remember that the date cannot be more than 21 days ahead.
- Finally, do a final review and then list your product for sale on eBay.
