(KEEP IT SO SIMPLE)
I am successful in selling my items because I keep it simple and honest...If there is a crack I say there is...if it is taped up I say it is...the buyers gets no nasty surprises from my items. What they see is what they get. Most people just want to see the item and know if the description is accurate and genuine. I hate wading through such instructions as smoke free and pet free homes...sometimes I feel like adding to my auctions " toenail clipping free home " or " non herbal drinking home"...it just adds more stuff to wade through and has no bearing on wether I buy an item or not....too much puts me off and I go to a different item that is simpler to read..As a buyer all I want to know is what it looks like and a simple description...if I have any more questions I can send a question message to the seller...and I have had nothing but wonderful replies from all I have contacted.
Giving the buyer a variety of methods to pay is an advantage..I love paypal but not everyone has it, many people still only feel safe with a postal order or cheque..I cater to all these people.
Pictures should be clear and taken with plenty of light so the item is clear to see.
Use gallery, it is essential.
I have many repeat buyers because they know I am honest, accurate and tell the simple truth about my items. I understand when they need extra time to pay and allow this when circumstances are beyond their control..many have returned to buy more because they trust me.
Use big text, as many older (like me) buyers find larger text easier to read.
Have fun with turbo lister and find fun and suitable backgrounds to present the items.
