Many of us love using Ebay, whether it's searching for that elusive bargain, buying last minute presents or selling that brick brac around the house to make a few extra dollars.
Sadly a major new threat has arrived in the form of identity theft that can turn your happy ebay experience into a finacial nightmare. Here are a few tips on keeping your account safe.
1. Never list your passwords for your ebay/bank and paypal account passwords on the password remember option on your web browser.
2. Use a debit card (if you don't have the funds in your account to cover the purchase costs, the bank will reject all transactions).
3.Use Paypal for as many transactions as possible. Their protection scheme is excellent.
4.Change your password often.
5. Never answer any emails requesting that you log on following the links that they provide.(These are all scams)
6.Keep your virus protection software up to date.
7.If you notice any changes in your accounts, notify these institutions at once.
I hope these tips are of some help in keeping your accounts safe and sound, and make your future Ebay experiences happy one.
