Note to our Australian Customers re Delivery Times

We do routinely ship by Registered mail and this is very reliable, also insured but is sometimes slow.

The only alternative would be to use insured couriers, which would escalate our prices for shipping way beyond $40 for each item which we think it too much to bear.

Sorry but we don’t own and control Australia Post (and sometimes I really wish that we did). Our shipping times that we have found simply by experience are as follows:

Sydney Metropolitan – 2-4 days
Capital Cities (excluding Perth & Darwin) – 2-10 days
Perth and Darwin – 3-15 days
elsewhere in Australia – 3 – 15 days

Australia Post does publish a nice and interesting set of ‘Glossy Brochure’ type documents regarding the Registered Mail service, none of which make any commitment (nor makes any mention of) delivery times.

We have also had very many experiences where individual Postmen have run out of time in the day and they have simply taken Registered Items directly back to the local Post Office and the customer has then been left with now knowledge of what is going on, thinking that we have not yet sent the item.

As I said we use Registered mail for reliability and definitely not for speed. In the early days of us doing business we used to use the regular mail (non registered) but way too many items went missing and so the reliability answer was Registered Mail

Should shipping time be an issue for you then a request to us for express courier post as we mention in our eBay advertising might be a good option.

Rest assured we ship 98% of all items with two business days of receiving payment for the item.
