Proper use of feedback

What is feedback?

Feedback is where you can rate your experience with another e-bay member - be it buyer or seller.

Your own personal feedback can be there for everyone to see or it can be made private, so only you have access to the comments left by other ebayers.

For me personally, I have my feedback there so everyone can see.

I do understand why people, especially e-bay shop owners, have their feedback made private though.

Sometimes people who are new to e-bay have high expectations of sellers on e-bay. This is great, and in an ideal world there wouldnt be a problem. However sometimes things happen beyond their control -

Children are sick so they cant post your item the day your payment has cleared.

Australia Post can be quite slow sometimes and quite often mail does go missing - most of us do advise registerd post

Items get damaged in the mail.

When leaving feedback for a seller please take into these considerations -

Was the seller friendly and helpful

Did they offer a refund on a faulty item

Was it a misunderstanding about something - Sellers are only human after all.

Have you tried to work things out with the seller via e-mail.

And if you still wish to leave negative feedback be precise and to the point. If there is a problem with the seller everyone has a right to know.

On the other hand if you leave positive feedback please give a reason also. Some people just write "thanks" or "partner loved their gift". Anothr way would be to say "highly recommend",  "easy, hassle free transaction", "fast postage, well packaged". This way it lets other people know why you are leaving positive feedback.

Feedback is there for you to use, so please use it wisely.
