For some time now the herbal craze in breast enlargement and breast firming has been Pueraria mirifica or Kwao Krua (as the Thais call it.)

All hype or is there at least a little bit of truth to it?

This is not intended as medical advice just a general intro to the natural herb Pueraria Mirifica.
Pueraria mirifica is a root found in northern and north eastern Thailand. In Thailand, the plant “Kwao Krua” has long been thought of to be a rejuvenating herb. It has been used for many years as a traditional medicine, mainly for rejuvenating purposes. In the 1950's it was discovered that Pueraria mirifica also had other uses please see below.

Pueraria mirifica has a high concentration of phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens are not hormones, but they do provide similar benefits of estrogen, which is the body's primary source for breast enhancement.
Phytoestrogens have been found to maximize blood flow and estrogen distribution throughout the breast tissue, encouraging growth and maintenance of the breast tissue, firmness, and shape.
Pueraria mirifica can lengthen the milk ducts, stimulate and expand fat tissues, resulting in firmer breasts.

Below is an extract from the research by the Medicinal Plant Research Institute in Thailand
The compounds that make Pueraria Mirifica so special and different from other phytoestrogen plants are Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol. These two compositions possess the highest estrogenic activity among the known phytoestrogens due to their structual similarity to estradiol, the main human estrogen in women’s bodies. Pueraria Mirifica also contains other chemicals that belong to Isoflavones and Coumestan groups of phytoestrogens, e.g. Genistein, Daidzein, Daidzin, Genistin and Coumestrol that are usually found in soyabeans. However, the estrogenic activity of Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol is much more potent than that of soy isoflavones.
The results from the researchers confirmed that these chemicals are potent anti-breast cancer, menopausal syndrome, prostate hyperplasia, colon cancer, osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease via the potent reduction of hypertension and cholesterol in blood. Isoflavones enriched in Pueraria Mirifica also support a healthy cardiovascular system, enhance breast and skin appearance, as well as supporting a healthy prostate function, and healthy bone structure.

So what does this all mean?

So not only breast growth but also anti-breast cancer, anti-PMT (menopausal syndrome), anti-heart disease, pro skin and bone???

BUT what, also anti prostrate cancer? May be the guys should have a look at it as well? A little search reveals there are 2 types of Kwao Krua, a red one and a white one - and oh yes, traditional Thai medice did also use one of them to improve mens health.

Is this the miracle drug it has been advertised as or not?

Tests carried out by Thailand's Chulalongkorn University  found Pueraria mirifica therapy was able to enhance breast size by up to 80% certainly seem to speak in its favour.
Further tests carried out in England found that the plant had a beneficial effect on the skin, and hair, as well as the breasts.

It all sounds great but as with all treatments only time will tell so we will just have to wait a bit longer. So far it looks good and the women using it seem to be happy with the results. :-)
