Purchasing quality shoes for your toddler

Being a new mum myself I often browse department stores looking for good quality shoes at a reasonable price.  I have found the cheapest without leaving home on ebay.  There are quite a few areas that you may need to look at to find them as sellers may list them in many different areas.  I have not only found them under clothing and accessories but also in Baby and Maternity.  Under clothing and accessories there is a shoe link but often sellers may list them under the clothing size.  Therefore if you are after a size 4 shoe you may find a bargain awaiting you under size 4 clothing which is for a totally different age therefore not many people may have found it.

The other thing you must do is find out the exact size of your toddler.  Ask the seller for measurements and they usually always oblige.  Often width is important if your toddler has a larger size foot.  Different brands are different sizes so it is important to measure as you may find they are too small.  Also be careful with US and UK sizes as they are different.

You will find many quality brands on ebay and I try to look at least twice a week to ensure don't miss out on any new listings.  I have paid less than half the retail price for many items and have saved quite a bit.  If the person lives locally you can ask if you can pick up the item as shoes may cost up to $10 in postage.  You may find the item doesn't go up as much in price because people have factored in the postage price when bidding.

Always ensure you check a sellers feedback score and that their postage is not outrageous.  If you see a pair of shoes that have a low start price with no bids this is usually a flag to have a look at their postage prices or their feedback score.  Before you bid check and see if you can pick up if you are the winner or they may combine postage on multiple items.  I would advise not to bid on something where the person has lots of negative feedback but it's entirely up to you.

Last but not least I usually find that they best time to win an auction is in the last few minutes.  Unfortunately you may not always be home but you can bid prior or if you are like me make sure you are at home so you can ensure you win it!!

Good luck and happy bidding :)
