Rugby League Club Membership Badges

Rugby League Club Membership Badges can be separated into two broad categories; football club (RLFC) or leagues club membership badges.

Leagues Club membership badges were issued annually by all Leagues Clubs generally from the late 1950s to the mid 1990s. Badges were used as identification of membership and were required for entry into the Club's premises.
Each year's badge was intentionally different for easy recognition and different badges were issued for different categories of membership such as Associate, Director or Honorary.

In the mid 1990s badges were replaced by plastic cards.

Football Club membership badges are less common simply because there were less football club members. Whereas some of the major Clubs commanding membership numbers in the tens of thousands, football membership would generally be limited to less than one thousand.

These badges are now highly collectible with prices increasing significantly in recent times with the advent of on-line auction houses like eBay.
