Buy quality 2nd hand Designer clothes for your children on eBay. Then when your children have outgrown them, resell them on eBay. Sometimes you might lose a few $$$ sometimes you will make a few $$$. But if you hand them to the Salvos or a friend, you don't make anything.
I buy mostly Pumpkin Patch for my 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl. Most of it is 2nd hand clothing but still looks as new!
The clothes are very durable, you can often find a full set in a matter of days or weeks. The resale value of a full set is often greater than what you paid for the 3 pieces separately.
In a period of 12 months I spent $780 on clothes for my whole family. I also sold $765 worth of clothes on eBay. So technically I only spent $15 on clothes from July 2004-June 2005!
Be specific when searching for clothes
For example Pumpkin Patch Jacket, then click on girls and then on size. This saves time scrolling through pages and pages of stuff you don't have time to look at.
If you are unsure of size always ask seller a question
Some helpful hints
- If buying kids shoes, ask for sole length. As shoe sizes can vary from brand to brand.
- ask for chest measurement or length of a jacket.
- If you are buying clothes for next season you could even ask the seller what age their child was when they were wearing it.
- You could even ask teh seller if they have anything else from that range that they might be listing soon. In this case, add the seller to your favorites.
