Antique Sterling Silver Antique Silver Silver its real worth and appraisal Silver, as a decorative and/or precious metal is not realising its real worth in the current market. Reading through many listings for silver, I see lots of pieces that are listed as "sterling", when they are not. Remember, unless it is hallmarked by a British Assay Office, it cannot be legitimately called "Sterling Silver". It may well be of the same quality and value, but without those Assay marks, it isn't Sterling Silver.
Sellers need to realise the real worth of their piece, get as much historical information about the item and list it as honestly as possible to realise the best possible price.
You can contact me with any request for information on silver items, (Russian, Indian, European, South African, American silver etc.), and I will be glad to help.
I have over 50 years experience dealing with silver, so come to me with confidence for advice.
