One of the major advantages with PayPal is the seller can 'see' the buyer's transaction instantly and then send the item in the post to the buyer (which means the item can be in the post within an hour of the sale closing).
Direct deposit is not as fast, simply because the seller has to wait for his/her bank to process the deposit before it can be verified. This may take a couple of working days.
There are a couple of ways to speed up the process.
If the buyer is using internet banking to pay, the buyer can print out a copy of the transaction and fax it to the buyer as proof of payment or scan and e-mail it.
Alternatively, the buyer can use a screen capture program (such as FastStone) to 'capture' a copy of the screen and which can then be saved and e-mailed to the seller.
