How do you choose the perfect necklace for your outfit? We all know that different necklace lengths will complement different necklines, but what are these combinations? Here are the most common:
Collar necklace - this type of necklace is about 12-13 inches. It sits snugly around the middle of the neck and will go well with a V-neck, boat neck or off the shoulder necklines.
Chocker necklace - the chocker falls around the base of the neck and will complement any neckline. It will particularly jazz up a strapless or plunging neckline.
Princess necklace - this the classic and versatile necklace length of about 17 - 19 inches that falls just below the throat. It can be worn with just about any neckline from high crew necklines to low plunging necklines.
To make a bold statement, you can mix and match different types of pendants of different design and colour to further accentuate your outfit.
Matinee necklace - the matinee necklace is 20 - 24 inches and falls to the top of the bust. Avoid wearing this length with plunging necklines because it will vie for attention with your outfit. Matinee necklaces are perfect for business attire as they have an air of sophistication about them.
Opera necklace - it is 26 - 34 inches and falls below the bust. It looks elegant with a very high neckline. It is traditionally worn with evening wear but can look really jazzy with a casual outfit for a fresh, edgy statement.
Rope necklace - It measures at least 45 inches. The rope necklace often comes with hidden clasps to allow it to be broken up or linked together to transform it into a single or multi-strand necklace and/or bracelet. Its versatility will complement any outfit, night or day.
