Well my story began in 2004. I was an at home mum, doing ebay to help with the bills. Then I stumbled on an idea of opening my own take-away shop as I had worked in that industry before.
I began clearing out our garage, listing everything on ebay. I would use that money I made on ebay to buy restraurant equipment, again, buying on ebay. I continued to sell and then buy over a period of a year. Eventually, I had a very tidy home, and a garage full of restaurant equipment.
The last stage was finding a location, a great one it turned out to be, secured a great lease and we moved everything from our garage straight into the shop. It took a further 6 months with planning and permits. In the end, we open a VERY successfull business, at a fraction of the cost. Infact, I don't think I could have ever saved the money to buy a business. We did a rough calculation and we saved about $70,000 doing it this way.
The icing on the cake, when someone walked in and made an offer I couldn't refuse to buy the business.
So I have had a 4 year break from ebay, but came right back here to start my next business venture, yet to be announced.
I hope my story inspires someone out there to follow their dream. I did and can't wait to do it again.
