Most catalogues have a great sizing chart on the back however if you dont know where to measure in the first place you can have sizing problems with your online clothing purchases.  The lists below are a great starter in learning you correct measurements and as a consequence you clothes will fit! (hopefully)

Measuring for Ladies & Plus sizes.

BUST - measure under the arms at the fullest part of the chest remembering to keep the tape level

WAIST- measure around the hips keeping the tape a bit loose (remember you are measuring the point where the item sits and fastens in most cases so measure at the point on your body that this is most comfortable for you)

Measuring for Men's & Children's Sizes

Neck - measure at the base of the neck ie; the widest part - remember not too tightly otherwise the neck measurement will be too tight.

Chest - measure under the arms at the fullest part of the chest (around the entire body at that point keeping the tape measure level) If you like a little room in your shirts/tops then dont pull too tight or your measurement will be too tight.

Waist - measure around the waist at the height the pants are usually worn at, (now for teenage boys they may want you to measure down around their butt line, but resist and measure at the height the majority wear their pants -(ha ha) - (lol) - (rofl)  (abbrevs cover all generations  :)
