Watch out for bootleg anime DVDs!

Hi all. As anime increases in popularity, more people are starting to sell boxsets and DVDs for anime. However, if you see an auction that sells a DVD for below $20, chances are, it is a fake! These auctions will usually say that the episodes are in Japanese audio, and English subtitles.

What these people do is download the subbed anime from places like Animesuki, and burn them on DVD. They are earning an unjust profit by taking these people's hard work and selling it! As someone who is part of a subbing team, I know how hard it is to put out episodes week after week, for free. So please, don't let these pirates earn their money easily. YOU can download it for FREE from the internet, without buying it, if you wanted to. This is why a lot of releases these days have a general "IF YOU BOUGHT THIS FROM EBAY, YOU'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF" message.

The only genuine releases are those by Madman, and they retail for the same price as any genuine DVD does - roughly $27 - $35. Boxsets of an entire series can go for upwards of $100.

Don't get played! Either you download it free and support the subbing teams, or you get the licensed releases!

DON'T GO PROPAGATING PIRACY AND LETTING THE HARD WORK OF THE SUBBERS GO TO WASTE!

AND WOW! RIGHT NEXT TO MY GUIDE ON PIRATED ANIME, ARE SOME AUCTIONS WHICH ARE A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT NOT TO BUY! DON'T GET PLAYED!
