If you’ve been looking for an LED torch lately, you no doubt have seen the word “Lumens” used. The easiest and best way to think of lumens is, the higher the lumens value, the brighter the light will be. With the modern technology we now have in torches, a focused beam of light with a high lumen value is a very powerful source of light compared to traditional incandescent bulbs.

The Lumen is a measure of the power of light perceived by the human eye. This used to be referred to as candlepower, now known as
“candela”. It is quite difficult to explain how these compare to each other as a unit of measurement. Basically if a candle emits light with a luminous intensity of one “candela”, the total light emitted is about 12.6 lumens. The lumen can be thought of as the total “amount” of visible light in a defined beam or emitted from a particular source.

Only you will know what lumen value you require from your torch, as only you will know what purpose you intend to use it for e.g. close or confined area use, or you may need to see things in the distance that requires a much more powerful light. As a guide, a torch with a value of 200 lumens will exceed any traditional handheld torch that you may be used to now

The “IN FOCUS LED” range of torches has various lumen values and sizes to suit your particular situation and requirements. You can find them at our EBay store hpr_products_australia.

Once you experience one of these exceptional products, you’ll wonder how you ever survived without one!
