What is DSR?
DSR is the short form of Detailed Seller Rating. eBay has put this new way of rating a seller on their website apart from their feedback system. While the traditional feedback system allows buyers and sellers to leave general feedback about their transactions with other users on eBay, the detailed seller rating is a system that has specific categories under which sellers are rated.
Every buyer has an option of leaving a detailed feedback for sellers whom they have purchased from. There are 4 distinct categories in the Detailed Seller Rating system under which the sellers are rated. These categories are:
- Item Description: How accurate it was and whether or not any false information was included.
- Communication: Did the seller communicate with the buyer promptly or not?
- Speed of shipping: How much time did it take to ship the item? Whether or not the buyer received their shipment in a good condition and within the specified timelines.
- Shipping cost: In this category, buyers have to rate the shipping as well as any handling charges levied by the seller. They have to rate the seller on the basis of the cost, whether they found it high, normal, or very low.
In each of these categories, the buyer has to give the seller some stars. 1 star indicates a very bad rating and 5 stars indicate an absolutely excellent experience.
Since a DSR is anonymous, buyers can be extremely honest with their feedback. Once a seller has a minimum of 10 detailed feedbacks in the past year, only then does his DSR appear with his listings.
